For the last 6 weeks we have covered in class Topic 6 – Substances when we learned about the structure of an atom, the Periodic table of elements, The Chemical symbols of the first 20 elements and Compound and mixtures. The next topic that we started was Chapter 2 – The Cells.
During these lessons Cindy showed a real interest in the topics and constantly asked questions for enhancing her learning. She is to be commended for her attitude in class.

For the last 6 weeks we have covered in class Topic 11-Linear Equations when we learned to identify patterns, backtracking and inverse operations, keeping equations balanced and equations with the unknown on both sides. The next topic that we started was Pythagoras’ theorem.
During these lessons Cindy showed a real interest in the topics and worked all the questions from the textbook that has been assigned together with some other questions provided in hardcopies. She is to be commended for her attitude in class.

This term in Science, we have looked at Sound Waves, The Human Ear, Light, The Human Eye, Living Organisms, Classifications, Linnaean Taxonomy, and the Ecosystem. Unfortunately, Cindy has allowed herself to lose focus in Science this term as she has the ability to perform much better. Cindy has done well during Term 4 although I know she can improve much more if she puts more effort into learning in class and at home. Cindy always respects everyone and she is very polite although it would be great if she participated more in each session. From week 1 to week 5 Cindy participates in some lessons and she sometimes leaves her camera on (although when it is on I can barely see her). She sometimes interacts with her classmates and her teacher but she loses focus quite easily. Cindy didn’t do very well in the test. She demonstrated some understanding in limited learning areas, including percentage increase and decrease and discount; however, her test paper showed that she did not understand the content knowledge relating to rates, integrating graphs, word problems relating to money and percentage, and congruent triangles. Cindy rarely answers my questions nor turn on camera or audio in class. She was able to hand in some homework after reminding and completed them with 100% accuracy. Cindy’s effort in Term 3 was very disappointing. She was often unable to submit homework tasks in a timely manner and would not respond during Zoom lessons. Her Term 3 Science exam was also completely quite poorly as majority of the questions were either unanswered or answered with very little explanation. Cindy needs to improve her work ethic, revise more at home, as well as follow teachers instructions and complete class tasks in a timely manner.

Cindy is a very able student; however, she has the ability to perform much better. To facilitate such an improvement, Cindy needs to focus more during class time and not disappear during the online lessons. She must also dedicate more time towards homework and revision, as well as forward her homework to the teacher for review.

Cindy was usually very quiet in class and could bey class discipline. She may be a little shy to speak up in class or answer the questions in front of other students. Since she hardly handed in her homework, it is difficult to tell her learning progress. Although Cindy did arrive several weeks after Term 3 started she is doing Ok. It would be great that Cindy worked a bit harder at home and in class so everything is much easier for her, especially with grammar and speaking activities. Cindy did a wonderful job through term 2. She is quiet in the classroom and is able to understand the complex mathematical content. However, Cindy needs to positively engage in the classroom rather than waiting for teacher to ask questions. Cindy also needs to pay attention to worded questions to enhance her mathematical achievement.
