Connie is a very capable and mature student who is keen to improve her English marks. Our work so far has focused on her critical writing skills and analysis of given topics. Connie is a fast learner. We are currently using the topics from the Year 10 English workbook and developing skills relating to essay writing structure, grammar, punctuation and logical flow of paragraphs. We are also focusing on how to ‘mind map’ prior to writing an essay. This technique will assist Connie to write more interesting and complex paragraphs that demonstrate her ‘voice’ with evidence to support her opinions.
