The learning intentions from Week 5 to Week 10 are outlined as follows: The student can read the units by himself; The student can finish the comprehension questions mostly by himself; The student can spell the new vocabularies for each unit; 4. Jayden’s improvements could be well noticed during this term. He can read the unit by himself with 90% accuracy without my help, he can finish the comprehension questions by himself with 85% correct most of the time if he pays attention to the reading material and underlines the keywords. However, he should try to memorize the grammar rules and started to build up his vocabularies, moreover, finish his homework on time. In the following weeks, we would focus more on classroom behavior and improve his learning self-efficacy by interactive questions and his own self-evaluation.
There is a big process for Jayden as he is now much more motivated in learning English, and he is always trying to finish his homework every week. We started to use year 2 English excel skill book this semester, he is doing well so far in understanding the articles for each unit. The main goal for Jayden is self-efficacy, discipline and the learning habits, strategies in learning English such as how to look for answers in the article, how to guess the meaning of vocabulary. Jayden is slowly developing the interests in learning English, he was active and flexible during class, he loves to share his hobby and daily life stories with me which I enjoyed very much, however, Jayden needs to organize his time for practicing phonics and reading, perhaps through online games at this moment. Jayden did a very good job during the last 5 weeks in general, and I believe he will get better and better in the future. 🙂
Jayden is a very active child. After the break, he seems to forget some of the knowledge from the last term however he quickly picked them up especially phonics. During the online class, he could focus on the class and have meaningful interaction with me most of the time, well done Jayden and keep it up!
Regarding Jayden’s final exam for Term 2, 2020, he did a great job comparing with his foundation, he could understand the meaning of most words and he had a good understanding about the meaning of the words and sentences. In next term, we will start to memorise words gradually and sessions will be delivered in English depends on how well he could master.
First online class, not bad! Sitting still for more than 30 minutes in front of the computer at his age, so proud of Jayden! A little bit distracted by the toys at home but he can behave himself after pointing it out. Having trouble pronouncing the sounds ” th “, but getting better and better after practices.
Jayden did all his homework and review contents at home, well done! He forgets some of the vocabularies but can pick them up after giving hints. Focus and active during the whole lesson.Good job!
