The learning intentions from Week 1 to Week 5 are outlined as follows: 1. Can recognize and write more Chinese characters 2. Can read pinyin and simple words 3. Can write sentences assisted by teacher Jessica always participates sessions in a timely manner. During the sessions, Jessica can always keep the camera on. Jessica is interactive to share ideas with the teacher and peers. Apart from that, Jessica can always engage in most of the sessions. From week 6 to week 10, Jessica has improved her reading ability. But she needs to put more effort into reviewing because we only have one class each week. And I noticed that Jessica needs to be pushed, then she will have more confidence to try.

Jessica’s behaviour has been a concern this term. In my opinion she will gain more in one on one sessions. She could not cope with being in Speech session with Luna and Louisa who is more advanced than her. Jessica became increasingly more angry and at times she did not obey class instructions. Her speech and reading abilities improved a lot but she needs to work on her class behaviour and her parents need to play a more integral role in sessions.

Jessica has improved her ability on recognizing Chinese characters, but it is not easy for her to remember the pronunciation of them.
