Thomas has full attendance in this term, but sometimes he would be late. Thomas is very interested in programming. He has his own idea to build in the class. He tried his best to make his ideas to come true. Thomas is very active in the class and is willing to ask questions. Thomas is able to do the programming for a next level. He may keep working on it for a long term.
Thomas was very active in his participation. Not all of the french he produces is strictly accurate in terms of pronunciation or grammar, but it is important that he is having a go. Thomas is a very receptive boy, and listens and absorbs teacher feedback. I often have to ask Thomas to use his inside voice, but he will always do as asked. Thomas has gained some new vocabulary this term, I hope he will continue to pick up a few words, which he can put to practicle use in the future. However doing homework has been an issue. Thomas did well during the exam, following the proper exam ettiquette. Well done Thomas
Thomas participates well in class and attempts to answer question, with varying degrees of success. When we work on vocabulary together he can follow it, however he seems to have a block when it comes to actually accurately reproducing it himself.
Thomas was very loud in class today. I had to speak to him and remind him to use his indoor voice. The ability to hear sounds and translate them into comprehensible language is a skill which needs to be acquired with practice. Thomas needs to really focus on listening his fellow students and the teacher so as to identify the difference between his pronunciation and the correct one.
It is fair to say that Thomas tries hard. Today we used an online education programe which he seemed to really get on with. He did well with the prepositions. He needs to work on listening to how I pronounce the words and attempting to copy that. Thomas tends to go his own way and guess the pronunciation and is this has limited success. However it is clear that he put a lot of effor in today. I sent him a worksheet in Wechat about the house. He should fill in the arrows which correspond to the rooms of the… Read more »
Thomas has attended all the class but sometimes arrived late. He is passionate for programming, and he usually asks questions. He has his own ideas for building things by Python, which is very good. However, patience is necessary for him to complete these tasks. Thomas will be great if he could be more patient on programming.
Thomas was absent today.
Thomas needs to work on listening to the French and actually to repeat the correct pronunciation.
I am getting Thomas to speak more readily and hoping he can build up his sentences. He needs to work on his critical thinking, however he did very well with building up sentences using the framework.
It is clear Thomas is trying really hard to improve his French. Well done Thomas
It is clear that Thomas tried his best. Thomas really needs to revise the basic introductory questions and most essentially the verbs AVOIR and ETRE. These are the most basic and most used verbs in the French language and without an understanding of those Thomas will have trouble keeping up in future classes. He has a good grasp of numbers. Keep working hard Thomas. I know you have a lot of potential.
Thomas was absent for a significant time during today’s online lesson. He needs to improve his problem solving skills and not give up when something is difficult.
Homework: Complete the set worksheet and correct the answers.
Thomas needs to be more focussed in class and has to pay more attention to his homework. On a couple of occasions, he has submitted unfinished homework. With a more serious attitude to his studies, Thomas can achieve much better results. I am looking forward to marking his test that he was supposed to complete last Saturday.
Unfortunately, Thomas didn’t do too well on his exam. His knowledge on translation and reflection seems good, but it appeared he struggled with answering questions concerning fractions. Additionally, Thomas is reminded to read questions carefully, double check his answers, and present his work a bit more neater. Also, it appeared Thomas logged off of the online lesson 30 minutes early.
Thomas worked well today. He is reminded to access the GOOGLE DRIVE and look over the powerpoints and re-do some of the worksheets/chapters he found difficult to improve his knowledge and understanding for the upcoming exam on Saturday (13/06/2020).
Thomas displayed an excellent understanding of Prime Numbers, Highest Common Factors, and Lowest Common Multiples. However, Thomas did not complete the homework task from last lesson.
Homework: Complete the worksheet and correct it
Working with Thomas on his french is a long term process but it is clear that he has made some steps towards. He really really needs to review the verbs Avoir and etre as these contiue to be a problem for him. All of his classmates are comfortable and able to use them with a high degree of accuracy, however Thomas has trouble recalling them and using them productively. I have sent the verbs and pronouns in a Wechat message. I hope he will take this revision onboard. His behaviour however has substancially improved and is making the class far… Read more »

Thomas is falling behind the other students. He refuses to take notes and very rarely writes answers in the written exercises we do. His score on the avoir and etre quizz today was the lowest with 1/20. All the other students got at lest 16/20. I often feel that i have to go over the lesson again because if we don’t he will never be able to catch up. Also he was eating in class today with chopsticks. Which means he cannot be taking notes. This is not going to promote productive learning. Homework: Nationalities wordsearch in google drive (sent… Read more »
Thomas is energetic and eager to learn, I think that French is a subject that he will be able to assimilate into, however it will never be his greatest forté. He needs to work on his pronunciation and accurately repeating back the sounds that he hears.
Thomas is a very capable student but his energetic behaviour lets him down, as he is frequently load, distracted and draws innapropriate things on the computor screen. I had words with him and I hope this behaviour does not recure again. I know that he has a lot of potential but needs a physical learning environment to help him achieve it
Thomas needs to focus on taking notes and remembering the pronunciation activities we do. I am working on ways to monitor class production. We will see if these exercises work. Homework: Numbers 1-70 worksheet. Go over the family names for next week’s class Bring a photo of your family members for a presentation.

Thomas has the capability to apply himself, but he does get over excited and create a lot of noise in class which especially over the microphone can be very difficult. I have had to stop the class a couple of times to get him to calm down.
Thomas has improved his typing speed a lot. He completed the project he wanted. Great!
