The learning intentions from Week 1 to Week 5 are outlined as follows: 1. Read and comprehend three stories: Alexander the Great, the History of Halloween, Say It With Pictures. 2. Learn frequent glossary and start to distinguish the syllables in each word. Dictation about the glossary. 3. Collect vocabulary and resource regarding fiction and non-fiction for future English Writing. Zheyi always participates sessions in a timely manner. Zheyi always attends sessions on time but he seldom responses to the teacher’s questions positively. Zheyi is usually quiet in class. In this term, we have learned nine stories and most of them are non-fiction. Zheyi could have a better understanding about each text and he always hands in his homework in a timely manner. Therefore, Zheyi improved a lot about reading because he could practise on a regular basis. Zheyi improved a lot of about his English reading, he could not read the whole text but he insists in reading it every week. Zheyi had very limited understanding about the sound of each letter and digraphs, but he is getting much better and he could read more difficult words now. In class, he still has little interaction with the teacher or other classmates, but now he tries to attend some class activities. Keep learning, Zheyi, you could make it.
Zheyi is back to online session today, and he is very interested in class.
This is a 1-on-1 making up session, Zheyi is very active and shared a lot of own experiences with the teacher. Zheyi is very different from usual.
Zheyi could communicate more with the teacher and peers, but he seldom speaks English in class.
This is the first time for Zheyi to attend Joyful Reader. He is a little bit quiet and sat with Charlie for the whole class. He is shy to answer questions initially. I think he will be fine from next session.
